1. The Witcher

The Witcher itself is an adaptation of the popular novel of the same name by a Polish writer, Andrzej Sapkowski, which first appeared in the 1990s.

The Witcher novel series was not previously released in America but in Poland itself, The Witcher's novel is already very well known.

After The Witcher's adaptation RPG reaped success in 2008, The Witcher's novel was directly translated into English and is now popular around the world, gang.

2. Dynasty Warriors

The Dynasty Warriors brawl game series from the developer Omega Force is indeed based on the original history of China in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.

But actually this series uses historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms from Luo Guanzhong as inspiration that makes this game full of sensational elements.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel itself is a dramatization of 100 years of Chinese history from 169 to 280 AD and is considered as one of the masterpieces in Chinese culture.

The novel Water Margin was appointed by the developer Konami to be the Suikoden RPG game series which until now has been one of Konami's best games.

Similar to the novel, the Suikoden series tells the story of 108 rebels who banded together to fight the tyranny of an evil government.

Square Enix developers are now famous through the Final Fantasy RPG series but they used to have a unique RPG horror game series called Parasite Eve.

5. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

You are familiar with the Chernobyl incident which is still the worst nuclear incident of all time, right?

Well, the Chernobyl area is the background of the FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R. horror series. who took inspiration from the novel Roadside Picnic by the Arkady and Boris Strugatsky brothers.

Although the setting was moved from Canada to Russia, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. from the developer GSC Game World took many elements from the novel Roadside Picnic.

The difference, if the Roadside Picnic novel uses aliens as a source of appearance of monsters, the game series S.T.A.L.K.E.R. using the Chernobyl incident effect as a background.

6. Metro 2033

Some staff who contributed to the making of the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. the first finally came out and formed the game studio 4A Games and their first project resulted in the game Metro 2033.

This game is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Dmitry Glukhovsky and also carries the FPS horror genre such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R ..

Producer Jade Raymond stated that the first Assassin's Creed game was based on the Alamut novel by writer Vladimir Bartol.

The story of the Hashshashin sect in the novel is a direct inspiration from the story of the first Assassin's Creed game that also tells the story of the sect in the late 12th century.

The most iconic sentence in the Assassin's Creed series, "Nothing is true, everything is permitted", is taken directly from the main motto in the Alamut novel.
